The Martian Codex: More Reflections from Mars

by George J. Haas and William R. Saunders, North Atlantic Books (Random House) – September 22, 2009. Pages 26, 38.

After ineffectively critiquing my blog post about that mesa on Mars that silly conspiracy theorists insist is a “Face”, the authors of the book suggest that my real name might be fake. They allege that my name may have been created to insult one of the more vocal conspiracy theorists I renounce in the post. The authors’ assertion is based on a common mispronunciation of my last name. To people who embrace pseudoscience and relinquish their critical thinking skills, anything can become evidence of a conspiracy. What this suggests about the rest of the content in their book should be self-evident. At least mom got a big kick out of their ridiculous claim. :) For the record, “Leis” is pronounced “lease”, not “lies”. Dumb asses…
