I think many of us are probably overreacting a bit to this news, but the announcement certainly evokes visions of a nexus of activities and breakthroughs leading to the Technological Singularity. The announcement, though, is short on detail and long on self-promotion, but if ever there was a person who should confidently self-promote, it is certainly Ray Kurzweil.
