Lava once flowed on Mars.

I work for HiRISE, so you might think I’d have written many poems about Mars by now, but honestly, I haven’t written that many. Happily, though, one of my rare Mars poems based on an image and caption I saw has been published on Twitter under HiRISE’s MarsPoetica initiative. It’s written about HiRISE image ESP_057978_1875.

Would you like to contribute your own favorite words or original artistic works to be featured by HiRISE on social media? You can submit to MarsPoetica “a favorite line of poetry, lyrics from a beloved song, or perhaps a snippet of wisdom that you grew up with” as well as original contributions.
