Editor-in-Chief Janel Spencer and Editor Lynn Finger have launched Harpy Hybrid Review, a new online literary magazine based in Tucson, Arizona. The first issue of the “Journal of Hybrid Literature and Art” includes several hybrid works, a book review, and an interview. The gorgeous cover art was provided by Elena Valdés Chavarría and the cover typography by Annelies Zijderveld.

Hybrid and cross-genre literary forms refer to the blurring or removal of boundaries between genres like poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction and between forms like written, visual, or video art, among other artistic expressions.

The submission window for Issue 2 of Harpy Hybrid Review is open from July 1 through August 31, 2020. Submission guidelines can be found here, which also includes more details about hybrid literature and what the editors are looking for.
